A few Vancouver facts for those of you who\u2019ve yet to visit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vancouver is so geographically dramatic that people regularly forget it\u2019s a city and not a national park with Wi-Fi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It has one of the mildest winters in Canada, which residents proudly mention while quietly forgetting the nine straight months of rain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Real estate prices are high enough that \u201cocean view\u201d often means \u201cif you lean out the window and squint between two condos.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vancouverites will happily drive two hours to hike a mountain, then complain bitterly about a 15-minute commute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The city has been \u201cdiscovered\u201d so many times (gold rushers, hippies, film crews, tech workers) that no one is entirely sure who was here first \u2013\u00a0or who can still afford to be.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a ton of travel in 2025, I\u2019m back in Vancouver for the winter!
